Common Questions in Interview Test

1.Ice Breaker Questions (Pertanyaan sederhana oleh pewawancara untuk membuka percakapan) Tips:

1. Biarkan pewawancara memulai ice braker, dan jawab dengan antusias. 
2. Jangan menayakan kabar si pewawancara. 
3. Gunakan Madam/Sir. 
4. Jangan menanyakan nama, terutama di awal wawancara (boleh menanyakan nama si pewawancara tapi di akhir wawancara). 
5. Gunakan Thank You, jangan thanks. 
6. Sikap tegas, tapi sopan. 
7. Jangan mendominasi pembicaraan. Buat pewawancara tertarik,tanpa harus mendominasi pembicaraan. 
8. Tidak perlu sungkan untuk memulai menjabat tangan. 
9. Ingat senyum!  

Contoh: 
Interviewer : Hello, good afternoon. I hope you are in a good condition for today’s interview. Have a seat please. 
Saras : Thank you, Sir. I am in my best condition. 
Interviewer : I am glad to hear that. By the way, you are Miss. Saras, right? 
Saras : Yes, Sir. My name is Saras Sasmita.  

10.Tell me about yourself! / Tell me about your dream job! / Where are you going to study? Tips: Cukup 2 menit: Jangan terlalu mendetail, langsung ke personal & educational background. 

11.Sebutkan hobi di bidang organisasi (OSIS, KRR, Pramuka, sebagai ketua panitia pada lomba UKS, dan adiwiyata) dan budaya bali (merangkai bunga & mejejaitan) 

12.Hobi lain : menulis untuk penelitian. 

13.Pendidikan di luar sekolah (kursus computer: photosoft, corel, kursus bahasa Inggris) 

14.Pelatihan/ Magang (part time job at Sari Cempaka)

Contoh:
 Interviewer : All right … now tell me about yourself. 
Candidate : ……….. at Junior and Senior High school, I join in OSIS as the OSIS leader, where I learn a lot about leadership. I also took English course since I was in Junior High School……. On my occasions, I joined many competitions and for Debate contest I got the first trophy. And I was a delegation of my senior high school for …………… My best skills are at Chemistry and English. ………. In the future, I want to be a doctor, because …….. I believe my education background and experiences will make a good implication for my future carrier. The knowledge of chemistry will help me in doing an experiment …… And I can use English for the result. And then after joining many organizations I learn about problem solving, leadership, and many others. 

17.What is the meaning of success for you and how you judge yourself successful? / What is your objective for your school? / What do you want to work for your school? Tips: jangan melihat keberhasilan dari faktor luar. Buat apa defines sukses tersebut. Dan sebutkan contoh-contoh kesuksesan yang sudah dicapai. 

Contoh …… I’d like to give my contribution and to add good values to the school I am learning for. …… To achieve my goal, self-determination is really important. If you want something then you have to try to get it and give all that you have. 

18.What experience do you have in this organization?/ Are you team player?/ Do you like to work alone or in a team? …….. I learn a lot about team work. I learn that team work is not only for the people in the same level or in the same organization. So, I am learning the team work as a school team. Since I am good in managing people and making close relation towards other people, I am sure that I can create a school team. I can do both. I enjoy both but it depends on what I do. I usually need time by myself to calculate, to plan, and to analyze things. But afterwards, I’d be ready to discuss things with others. (I like working with people and enjoy group projects, but I am also a self-starter who doesn’t mind working on my own. 

19.What do you know about this competition? 

20.Why should the school choose you as the candidate of your school? This selection has many criteria for participants in order to select the best candidate to represent Bali in the national level. And the selection is started from school level. The headmaster chooses the best candidate his or her school in term of many aspects which is the criteria in the province level and also national level. I’m sure my school had selected the best students with all of the criteria and I think that is me. In this semester I’m the best students of my school beside also have good attitude. That’s why my school chooses me as its candidate. 

21.Why do you want to practice in joining “….” selection? Contoh: Challenge (tantangan) Achievement (prestasi) Recognition (pengakuan diri) 

 22. What motivates you to do your best in your job in the organization? I like challenge. Is motivates me to do many kinds of job when I am in organization, although it is so hard to do. But I believe there is nothing that can be done. Every problem must have their solution. So, just do what we can do, we will solve every problem we face in organization and also in our life. Because problems are the color of our life, no body lives without problem. 

 23. What kind of person would you refuse to work with? There is no person’s character that I don’t want to work with. I can work with everyone. Sometimes I fine someone who can’t work well with me. But, I still can work with them. With the characteristics of my leadership, so far until this time I and also my friends in organization always can do our duties well. As what I’ve said before it is a challenges which will improve our self, neither in personality nor in our social life. 

24. Tell me about a problem you had with your teacher/friends? Have you ever had difficulty with your headmaster or teachers? Tips: Jangan menjelakkan orang lain (guru/kepala sekolah) …… Actually, I don’t have any difficulties with the headmaster or teacher when I am as an OSIS leader but I have problem with the students/my friends. I had a little bit difficult to manage them, dealing with their attitude. I tried to become their friend to be closer with them and then I could manage them easily. 

25. What is your greatest strength?/Tell me a story that shows your strength / Explain how you would be an asset to your school?/ Why should your school choose you as the candidate of your school? Tips: 

Jangan arogan, tetap sopan. 

Tonjolkan bisa bekerja di bawah tekanan, dan teamwork ability. My ability to work under pressure, it makes me work harder…… my ability to prioritize, my problem-solving skills, my ability to focus on projects, my professional expertise, my leadership, my positive attitude. There was a day when my teachers gave me a pile of task to do, and I had to finish it that day. The tasks were ………… , …….., and …….. And I could finish it on time. I handled it by distinguishing between the most important tasks and least one. Even though I had to miss my lunch for the retype tasks. 

28. What is your greatest weakness? / I wonder, do you have any weaknesses? Mm…. I don’t think I have weakness as an OSIS leader. Maybe my only weaknesses was that I couldn’t stop until have finished it. I want it to be perfect. That way I’m forced to organize the time and tasks. Atau …”I tend to expect others to work as hard as I do”, atau I’m a bit of a perfectionist. I’ve trouble in delegating duties to others because I felt I could do things better myself. This has sometimes backfired because I’d end up with more than I could handle and the quality of my work would suffer. But I’ve been learning effective delegation techniques at OSIS and I feel I’ve overcome this weakness.

29. What has disappointed you about the task/job? The jobs which is not enough of a challenge. 

30. What is more important for you: the money or the work? Money is always important, but the work is the most important.
